For thirty-two years, The Wintrust Magnificent Mile Lights Festival has been a thrilling holiday celebration: A day-through-night, mile-long extravaganza drawing more than one million celebrants. Its centerpiece is the largest nighttime parade in the U.S. — a spectacular parade down Michigan Avenue.

Shining bright for 32 magnificent years, The Wintrust Magnificent Mile Lights Festival returns to downtown Chicago on Saturday, November 18, 2023 to kick off the holiday season the weekend before Thanksgiving.

Each year, holiday memories are made, traditions are formed and the holiday spirit along The Magnificent Mile grows greater.

For 32 years, the trees along North Michigan Avenue have been illuminated to signal the official kick-off of the holiday season in Chicago and nationwide. With the help of over 600 volunteers, The Wintrust Magnificent Mile Lights Festival® encourages everyone to join in the spirit of the holiday season and enjoy a host of festive experiences along The Magnificent Mile.

The parade features fabulous floats, giant helium balloons, exciting marching bands, musical performances, Santa Claus, and more, all helping to illuminate more than one million lights along The Magnificent Mile. This year’s event will also feature celebrity performances by one of the Top Five female groups of all time, The Pointer Sisters, and American rhythm and blues vocal favorites, The Spinners. American singer-songwriter Debbie Gibson will perform songs from her eleventh studio album, Winterlicious, and C&C Music Factory will make “Everybody Dance Now!” The event draws to a grand conclusion with The Wintrust Fireworks Spectacular over the Chicago River at Michigan Avenue starting between 7 and 7:15 pm.
