Braden Sutphin is the oldest privately owned printing ink company in the United States.  It was founded by Jim Braden in 1913 who then combined forces with Al Sutphin to form The Braden Sutphin Ink Company.  Mr. Sutphin purchased control by 1929 and it has been owned and operated by the Sutphin family since that time.

The Sutphin name may sound familiar to Cleveland sports fans?  Yes, Al Sutphin owned the Cleveland Barons hockey team during the 1930’s and 1940’s including building the Cleveland Arena which housed major indoor sporting event in Cleveland for over forty years.

In recent years, Braden Sutphin has experienced significant growth in printing inks used for packaging. From the signs at Wendy’s, to blister pack cards, to labels for food and beverages, and numerous other print applications.  Braden Sutphin has always been noted for its quality inks and technical support offered to its customers.

Braden Sutphin will begin their second century of excellence with the same fundamentals of business that Jim Braden started in 1913 and even though our iPhones have surely become a staple of our lives, there is still something special about the printed word.
