1973 – Truett Cathy creates the Team Member Scholarship Program so that restaurant employees can further his/her education.

1986 – First free stand Chick-Fil-A restaurant is opened, and restaurant is renamed to Chick-Fil-A. Also the Breakfast Chicken biscuit is created.
1985 – Chick-Fil-A’s famous Waffle fries are born.
1989 – Introduces the Chargrilled Chicken Sandwhich.
1995 – Cow campaign begins(Eat mor chikin!) Also introduces the chicken strips.

2001 – Introducing the Cool Wraps.
2003 – Southwest Chargrilled Salad is born.
2004 – Fruit cup and Chick-n-minis are invented.
2011 – Introduces the Spicy Chicken Biscuit and multigrain Oatmeal for breakfast.
In October 2015 – The company opened a three-story 5,000 square feet (460 m) restaurant in Manhattan that became the largest free-standing Chick-fil-A in the country at that time.
In July 2018 – Chick-fil-A announced it would be opening its first location in Hawaii in Kahului in early 2022, with additional locations in Honolulu and Kapoleo to follow.
