As the largest Krampus parade in America, the parade welcomes visitors and performers from all over the country and abroad in addition to large local crowds. If you want to experience the most exciting and creative Krampuslauf this side of the Alps, be here in New Orleans on December 2rd for a night you will never forget.

Starting off on Royal Street, in the Bywater, at Parleaux Beer Lab, the parade will proceed up Royal all the way to Piety Street where it will turn left and end at Bratz Y’all. Be sure to stick around Bratz Y’all to enjoy a refreshing beverage and get to hang out with the Krewe.

Along the route, you will come face to face with Krampus and his army of mischief. Dare to get close and you may be treated to one of the amazing custom throws that members that will be passing out to onlookers. From bells, ornaments, and Krampus cups to the coveted lumps of coal it will certainly be worth the risk to get a little frightened.

The evening parade or Krampuslauf will be lead by Krampus, complete with switches, and Saint Nicholas accompanied by a host of other creatures and folklore legends like Frau Perchta (The Frau), Yule Cat, Knecht Ruprecht, Belsnickel, and others (Y’ules) and our Halloween character (Swampus).

Completely unique to New Orleans is very own Sisters of Shhh. Shhh stands for SHe Harkens Him and when you see the women all in white you know Krampus is not far behind. They are very beautiful, but don’t let that fool you. They too are out to punish the naughty. Misbehave or make a noise in their presence and you just may lose your soul to their icy stare.

These unique Krewe of Krampus characters will help give the parade a unique New Orleans twist. It also wouldn’t be a proper Krampuslauf without some horns on your head, clanking chains, and ringing bells.

The goal is to establish a core group of enthusiastic individuals that are passionate about sharing the Krampus tradition here in New Orleans through a walking parade. With a solid base and dedicated following the Krewe of Krampus parade and associated festivities will grow to be a “must attend” event of the December holiday season.
