At the Florida Strawberry Festival, Cabot Creamery served up the world’s Largest smoothie weighing in at a massive 1,000 gallons (3785.41 liters).

With the help of the prep team, lead by Cabot Creamery’s head chef Jimmy Kennedy, the dairy agricultural marketing cooperative joined forces with the Florida Strawberry Festival who supplied the delicious fruit to break the record.

The giant batch of shake was made by volunteers at individual stations at the event, using a variety of blenders that would be emptied into buckets for the official smoothie container.

To promote the health components and benefits of smoothies, Cabot also featured two human-powered Vitamix Bicycle Blenders which allowed volunteers to man power the blender while cycling.

In total, 1,100 two-pound tubs of Cabot Greek Yogurt, 2,000 pounds of strawberries, 3,375 pounds of ice and 265 pounds of Cabot Whey protein powder were used in the attempt.

Cabot Creamery was determined to break the record, having previously held the title in 2013.

This time, the mark to beat was 825 gallons, in order to beat a benchmark set by McGill University two years ago.

With hard working volunteers and a lot of ice, they were able to achieve their goal and take back the title.

Following the record attempt, Cabot Creameries distributed the smoothie to event guests in commemorative cups for a suggested donation of 2.00 – to which all proceeds were donated to United Food Bank of Plant City.

In adhering with Guinness World Records’ zero food waste policy, the remains of the smoothie, after distributed to event guests, went directly to the charities Feeding Tampa Bay Food Banks as well as local food pantries for consumption by those in need.

Cabot Creamery, known for its line of cheeses and dairy products, attained their first record for the Largest grilled cheese in 2000 weighing a massive 320 pounds (145 kg).

The company also broke the record for the Largest macaroni and cheese at 2,469 pounds in 2010 – all titles which donated to charities.

Prior to the event, Roberta MacDonald, Senior Vice President of Marketing for Cabot Creamery Co-operative said, “We are excited to attempt to establish a new Guinness World Record for the World’s Largest Smoothie to benefit United Food Bank of Plant City and Feeding Tampa Bay. The 1,100 farm families who own Cabot Creamery are dedicated to supporting communities where we sell our dairy products, and raising money for United Food Bank of Plant City and Feeding Tampa Bay is one of the many ways our farm families give back to those in need.”
