The company was founded in 1997, when Priceline Founder Jay S. Walker launches priceline.com with its famous Name Your Own Price® service, which represents a pricing strategy under which buyers make a suggestion for a product’s price. The name of the company was changed from priceline.com Incorporated to The Priceline Group Inc., on April 1, 2014, and it was also changed from The Priceline Group Inc. to Booking Holdings Inc., on February 21, 2018.
