Reebok International Limited is an American fitness footwear and clothing manufacturer subsidiary of brand management company Authentic Brands Group since March 2022. The company’s global headquarters are now located in Boston, Massachusetts, in the Seaport District, with regional offices in Amsterdam, Montreal, Hong Kong, and Mexico City.

The sustainable shoe is made with bloom algae for the sock liner, castor bean oil for the cushioning, eucalyptus bark for the mesh upper part of the runner and natural rubber for flexible traction while running. The shoe is classic white with straw and neutral shades for the sneaker’s laces, stripes, and detailing.

The Rebook aims to reduce the use of petroleum-based plastics by making its products with plants and is focusing on its sustainability under two pillars including ReeGrow which focuses on the use of natural products and ReeCylced which aims to create products from recycled or repurposed materials.

Here are the components:

Sustainably grown castor beans are used for the shoe’s highly cushioned and responsive midsole which, the company notes, “is built from and maintains the high performance and lightweight cushioning standard of the original Forever Floatride Energy.”

Eucalyptus tree comprises the upper; the material is naturally biodegradable, sustainably sourced, strong and breathable.

BLOOM algae foam is used for the sock liner. The algae is harvested from invasive growth areas and are naturally odor resistant.

Natural rubber is used for outsole – it is sustainably sourced from real rubber trees, rather than the petroleum-based rubber featured in other performance products.
