It is fully stocked with items you'd expect to find — like canned goods, cigarettes, chips and even a deli section — only you can't eat anything. That's because everything is made of felt.

It's the latest art installation by British artist Lucy Sparrow, who transformed the 1,200-square-foot space at The Standard Hotel off the High Line to make a statement about the disappearing corner store.

"I want the work to make people think about the loss of community spaces, when these small corner shops disappear," she said. "To remind them how valuable these corner shops really are, and the color they bring to our lives."

The store is attracting quite a crowd, with lines of people waiting to get inside. Everything is available for purchase with prices starting at $15.
