One World Trade Center - The tallest building in the US

09-07-2017

(USKings.org) Taking first place as the tallest building in the US is the One World Trade Center, with an actual height of 1,776 feet

The building, which is located in New York City, was completed in the year 2014 to become the 6th tallest building in the world. This 104-story structure also happens to share a strikingly similar name with the original World Trade Center's North Tower, which was destroyed during the infamous September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

One World Trade Center, which is the tallest skyscraper in the Western Hemisphere was designed by David Childs, who owns the firm Skidmore, Owings & Merrill (SOM), which is also responsible for designing the Willis Tower and the Burj Khalifa. The building was constructed to the height of 1,776 feet, in recognition of the year of the signing of the US Declaration of Independence.
